The Protocol was signed in Minsk on October 25, 2013.
The Agreement on the Creation of the Interstate Currency Committee of May 26, 1995 was ratified by the Russian Federation and came into force for the Russian Federation on November 4, 2000.
Since 2009, the Interstate Currency Committee, which formed following decision by the Council of CIS Heads of State, has essentially not carried out any work or held any meetings.
The Protocol on Terminating the Interstate Currency Committee is based on the common provision on CIS sectorial cooperation agencies, which stipulates submitting the question of the sectorial cooperation agency’s continued work for consideration by the CIS Council of Heads of State or the Council of Heads of Government if said agency does not hold any meetings over the course of two years.
