The Government of the Russian Federation has been instructed to include annual state support for light industry at the 2017 level or higher when developing the draft federal budget for 2018 and the planning period of 2019–2020.

The Government was also instructed to develop a subprogramme to supply the light industry sector with quality agricultural stock under the state programme for the development of agriculture and regulation of agricultural, commodity and food markets in 2013–2020.

In addition, the instructions to the Government specifically mention relaxing veterinary requirements for rawhide imported in Russia, legislative amendments regarding the monitoring of light industry sales, and support for Russian light industry exports, including through compensation of expenses associated with entering foreign markets.
