Instructions following Eastern Economic Forum

The President approved a list of instructions following the Eastern Economic Forum that took place on September 11–13, 2018.

For the purpose of establishing a major science and technology centre on Russky Island, the Government of the Russian Federation was instructed to grant Russky Island a special legal status in order to create a comfortable environment for innovation, cutting-edge projects in robotics, medicine and biotechnology, unmanned vehicles, maritime vessels, environment and other things; and to build a technopark and a digital development centre on Russky Island that will specialise in software for Big Data processing as well as information security.

The Government and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives were instructed to explore the opportunity of developing an educational project in digital economy management for government employees and entrepreneurs in the Far Eastern Federal District, to be based at Far Eastern Federal University. Potentially, the project could be expanded to other Russian regions.

The Government and the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Science and Education were instructed to develop a unique mega-science class scientific facility on Russky Island for solving new tasks in fundamental and applied physics, pharmaceutical science, materials science, chemistry, biology and other areas.

The Government, Rosatom, Roscosmos, Gazprom, Rosneft, United Aircraft Corporation, Russian Helicopters and other interested organisations involved in projects in the Far Eastern Federal District were instructed to explore the opportunity of building engineering facilities as well as R&D centres on Russky Island.

The Government and government bodies of the regions comprising the Far Eastern Federal District as well as interested organisations, public and business associations were instructed to develop the National Programme for the Development of the Far East until 2025 with a prospect until 2035.
