East Asia Summit 2018-11-15 10:45:00 Singapore Vladimir Putin attended the plenary session of the 13th East Asia Summit (EAS). The discussion focused on strengthening regional security, countering terrorism and promoting cooperation in healthcare, high technology and environmental protection. The meeting was closed to the media. At the East Asia Summit the President of Russia had brief meetings with US Vice President Michael Pence and Assistant to the US President for National Security Affairs John Bolton, as well as with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also attended these meetings. The East Asia Summit (EAS) was held in Singapore. The EAS currently comprises 18 countries, including ASEAN members (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) and eight dialogue partners, including Russia (joined the EAS in 2010), the United States, Japan, South Korea, India, China, Australia and New Zealand.
