Law on perpetuating memory of victims of the genocide of Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War 2025-04-21 14:40:00 The President signed Federal Law On Perpetuating the Memory of the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. The Federal Law defines the term “the genocide of the Soviet people,” sets out the forms of perpetuating the memory of victims of the genocide of the Soviet people, details the procedure for the burial or reburial of the remains of the victims of the genocide of the Soviet people, establishes guidelines for safeguarding graves or unburied remains, and regulates the organisation and implementation of the relevant search expeditions. The Law further delineates the powers between the bodies of state authority of the Russian Federation, the bodies of state authority of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and local governments involved in perpetuating the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Soviet people.
