Meeting with Acting Governor of Novosibirsk Region Andrei Travnikov 2018-08-28 09:00:00 Novosibirsk Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with Acting Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Andrei Travnikov. The discussion focused, in particular, on the situation in agriculture, transport infrastructure development and working out a strategy for socioeconomic development of the Novosibirsk Region until 2030. Andrei Travnikov said that all the efforts of the regional government are aimed at drafting projects for future development, such as the Akademgorodok 2.0 Novosibirsk scientific centre and a new socioeconomic development strategy until 2030, the goal of which is to make the region the best beyond the Urals in terms of living and doing business. The region is actively working with relevant federal ministries on national projects, including the most important ones for the region: Demography and Healthcare. According to the Acting Governor, the next large project the city and the entire region are working on is preparing for the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in 2023. The project documentation on all the main facilities is being drawn up, including the new ice rink for the Sibir hockey club in Novosibirsk. In this connection, Andrei Travnikov asked for the President’s support in providing federal funding, noting that the region, for its part, will prepare the design specifications and estimates and arrange co-funding from the regional budget. Vladimir Putin stressed that the championships must be prepared and held at the highest level. The President also noted several of the region’s achievements: the large number of parking lots in Novosibirsk, support for agriculture, and focus on transport development issues, in particular, allocation by the region of additional 1.5 billion rubles for building rural roads. The President wished the Acting Governor success in implementing all the development plans in Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk Region. Earlier in the day, Vladimir Putin attended the Technoprom-2018 international forum in Novosibirsk and visited several stands at the exhibition of technological development.
