The message reads, in part:
“The current generation of soldiers and officers rightly takes pride in the centuries-long glorious history of the Russian Ground Forces, in the names and achievements of outstanding military leaders and commanders, and in the courage and valour of officers and soldiers who have faithfully and diligently served the Motherland, upholding their devotion to the military brotherhood. Naturally, in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, we owe special words of gratitude to the veterans who defeated Nazism and defended the freedom and independence of our Fatherland.
It is important that today you strive to be worthy of the heroic traditions of your predecessors, demonstrating unwavering fidelity to the Oath and duty, high proficiency and resilience, particularly during the special military operation.
I am confident that the personnel of the Ground Forces will continue to enhance their professionalism, successfully accomplish the tasks set before them, and selflessly defend Russia’s national interests and the security of our citizens.”
