The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Denis Sekirinsky, members of the Commission for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation and representatives from legislative and executive government bodies, as well as from the scientific and expert communities.
Igor Levitin noted the importance of discussing the indicators of the national ratings of the regions’ scientific and technical progress.
Denis Sekirinsky described the new criteria for the rating, emphasising the need to use it for improving the system of managing research and development at the regional level.
Another item on the agenda was the education of professionals in this area. The participants reviewed this in connection with the scheduled meeting of the State Council Presidium on labour market development.
The commission also discussed the involvement of the regions in implementing the Scientific Children’s Platforms, which are part of the Decade of Science and Technology.
