Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Naryshkin chaired a meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Countering Corruption

Current state anti-corruption policy issues were the subject of discussion.

Justice Minister Alexander Konovalov Konovalov Alexander Konovalov AlexanderPresidential Envoy to the Constitutional Court and First Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander Buksman reported on the results of anti-corruption expertises of laws, regulations and drafts. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in the first half of 2010 alone anti-corruption expertise of more than 428,000 laws and regulations and drafts thereof was carried out having revealed around 28,000 corruption-causing factors with subsequent measures taken to eliminate them. 

Healthcare and Social Development Minister Tatyana Golikova Golikova Tatyana Golikova TatyanaDeputy Prime Minister and State Secretary and Deputy Economic Development Minister Anna Popova reported on the anti-corruption measures being taken to improve state management in the social and economic sectors. The Presidium was also briefed on a programme developed by the Economic Development Ministry to reduce administrative barriers and make state services more accessible. The draft programme will be presented to the Presidium for discussion in the first quarter of 2011. 

The meeting also heard a report by Viktor Kislov, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography and Deputy Chief State Registrar, on the results of anti-corruption efforts in his service. Following the discussion, the service received instructions to draw up a system of additional corruption prevention measures.

The Presidium examined proposals from Presidential Aide and Head of the Presidential Control Directorate Konstantin Chuychenko Chuychenko Konstantin Chuychenko KonstantinMinister for Justice on ensuring more effective monitoring of earlier resolutions’ implementation, and also information on preparations for the next meeting of the Council for Countering Corruption scheduled for early December 2010.
