Mr Khamitov briefed the President on industrial production and infrastructure development in the region and the investment situation, in particular, plans to build a large factory for producing drilling equipment with Chinese investment.
Mr Khamitov also requested that he be allowed to step down from office ahead of term in order to take part in the regional election that will take place in September 2014.
