During the meeting, dedicated to the advancement of scientific research in the DPR, the discussion focused on opening a representative office of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the region, cooperation between the Russian Science Foundation and the DPR to support fundamental and applied research, as well as a comprehensive update of the regional research and educational infrastructure under its socioeconomic development program.
Among other issues, the participants reviewed the results of the First International Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities. The ongoing gathering, held in Mariupol following a Presidential instruction, has brought together over 300 participants, including scholars from Slovakia, Republika Srpska, South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
Additionally, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Russian Science Foundation and the Donetsk People’s Republic; one of the initiatives under the agreement involves holding a separate regional RSF contest among research teams from the DPR.
