The competition, organised by the Russian Alpine Ski and Snowboarding Federation, is taking place from February 15 to February 26, 2011. It is the first test competition to take place on the future Olympic ski slopes, and includes two events – slalom and super giant slalom.
The competition provides the opportunity to test the entire infrastructure for organising and hosting such events: artificial snow cover, safety guarantees for competition participants, and medical and transport services.
Watching the sports event together with the President were Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Alpine Ski and Snowboard Federation Svetlana Gladysheva, and Chairman of the International Olympic Committee’s Coordination Commission Jean-Claude Killy.
