The draft law proposes to supplement the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation with new articles stipulating, respectively, criminal and administrative liability for organising and holding illegal gambling outside gambling areas or using information and telecommunications networks, including the Internet, and communications means, including mobile communications.
Given the dangers and the recent high rate of extremist crimes, the draft law proposes to supplement the sanctions provided for in Articles 280, 282¹ and 282² of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation with an additional form of punishment: the offender will be deprived of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities, and to extend the terms of application of this form of punishment.
