In accordance with the document, the Presidential Council for Science, Technology and Education is to become the Presidential Council for Science and Education. The regulation on the composition of the Council and its presidium has also been approved. Vladimir Putin will be the Chairman of the Council, with Presidential Aide Andrei Fursenko as Deputy Chairman. Head of the Presidential Directorate for Science and Education Policy Alexander Khlunov will be the Council’s secretary.
The Council has been created with the aim of promoting the development of science and education in the Russian Federation, as well as improving state management in this area.
The President signed another document appointing heads of the Council’s interdepartmental working groups.
