Congratulations on Russian Paratroopers Day

Vladimir Putin congratulated current and veteran servicemen in the Russian Airborne Forces on Paratroopers Day.

August 2, 2012
09:00

“The Russian Airborne Forces have a rich history and glorious traditions, and service in the “winged infantry” has always been respected as highly responsible and honourable. You, the soldiers of its units, are strong for your unyielding character, unity and mutual assistance. The paratroopers always persevere to duly accomplish their missions, demonstrate loyalty to the Fatherland and their duty, and prove with their deeds the validity of the legendary, time-tested motto: “No one but us!”

Today, the Airborne Forces face major, vital challenges of technical re-equipment and modernisation of armaments, improvement of personnel structure and the strength of the troops. Particular attention should be devoted to ensuring high-level material, physical, psychological and military personnel training in accordance with the latest requirements.

I am confident that you will continue to safeguard the interests of the homeland and make a significant contribution to strengthening national defence and security.”
