On June 19, Vladimir Putin will visit the Obukhov State Plant, where he will chair a meeting on the implementation of the State armament programme for 2011–2020 with regard to establishing a technical basis for the air and space defence.
In 2004, in accordance with the presidential executive order, the Obukhov State Plant was included in the list of 100 most important strategic enterprises in Russia. Along with the manufacture of civilian goods for the nuclear power, shipbuilding and other industries, the company specialises in the design, production, installation and maintenance of various weapons systems and military equipment. Equipment designed and produced at the plant is successfully used in Russia and other countries, including China, Egypt and Vietnam.
On June 20–21, the Russian President will take part in several events at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
In particular, on June 20, Vladimir Putin will meet with representatives of the Business 20 (B20), a business community forum attended by representatives of companies and business associations of G20 member states and partner countries, as well as leading international governmental and commercial organisations.
The Russian President will also meet with participants of the G20 Youth Summit (Y20), which will be held at the Forum on June 18–21. The event will bring together leaders of youth delegations from the G20 states, as well as representatives of the specially invited countries: Brunei, Spain, Kazakhstan, Senegal, Singapore and Ethiopia.
On the same day, Vladimir Putin will also hold a meeting with the Russian Direct Investment Fund’s international advisory board and heads of major infrastructure funds. The meeting participants will discuss investment in the Russian economy, including in infrastructure projects. A similar meeting was held at the St Petersburg forum last year.
On June 21, it is planned that the Russian President will hold a meeting with heads of leading Russian and foreign companies in the fuel and energy sector with the participation of Global Energy prize winners, and will make an address at a plenary session of the St Petersburg forum.
During the forum Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte and Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, who are invited to the Forum as guests of honour.
