The message reads, in part:
“Uraza Bayram celebrates the end of the holy month of Ramadan. It symbolises the joy associated with renewed faith and gaining invaluable experience of spiritual and moral self-improvement. It incites the faithful to do good deeds, display compassion, and to help the disadvantaged and those in need.
Let me point out that Russian Muslims have deep respect for centuries-old historical, cultural and religious traditions, and widely celebrate this landmark holiday. The Muslim community in Russia is actively involved in our country’s life, and makes a unique contribution to educating young people and developing interfaith dialogue. And of course its activities also help maintain interethnic peace and harmony within our society.”
