Vladimir Putin wrote in the honorary guests’ book at the exhibition Orthodox Russia. The Romanovs, marking the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty.

The President laid flowers at the monument to Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky on Red Square. Leaders of Russia’s traditional faiths and representatives of youth organisations also took part in the ceremony.

The President then visited the interactive exhibition Orthodox Russia. The Romanovs, marking the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty.

The National Unity Day holiday was established in 2005 in memory of the events of 1612, when Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky led a people’s volunteer army to liberate Moscow from foreign occupation.
