Mr Putin and Mr Stoiber discussed current international problems and various aspects of Russian-German cooperation.
Mr Putin noted with satisfaction that broad public sectors in Germany viewed Russia as a serious partner regardless of the domestic political situation. Russia, President Putin said, did the same towards Germany.
The President expressed his thanks to the political leadership of Germany for the assistance rendered in connection with a recent Russian Tu-154 plane crash over southern Germany.
