The Ambassadors of Sri-Lanka, Guatemala, Cuba, Eritrea, Madagascar, Venezuela and Israel presented credentials to the Russian President. The ceremony took place at St Alexander Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace.
Addressing the participants in the ceremony, President Putin said that Russia was a reliable partner in establishing a truly democratic model of a new world order, and was prepared for broad cooperation in this sphere, including with the countries whose ambassadors were starting their diplomatic work in Russia.
The recent events proved that universal rules of behaviour that had been established for centuries needed to be regularly adapted to the changing world, the President stressed. The most important task in the present-day international situation is to maintain the priority of international law and the unique role of global security institutions, primarily the UN, in providing strategic stability.
