Queen Elizabeth II made a brief speech on the relations between the two countries.

Her Majesty expressed admiration with Vladimir Putin’s dedication to the cause of reforming and strengthening the Russian economy in order to improve the life of the ordinary people. Elizabeth II assured the President that London backed the efforts of the Russian leadership to create a modern, prosperous and dynamic state.

For his part, Vladimir Putin expressed the hope that his visit to Britain would give a new impetus to the development of Russian-British relations.

Vladimir Putin thanked Queen Elizabeth II for her help in promoting bilateral relations, stressing that the Russians remembered Her Majesty’s visit to Russia in 1994.

The President noted that the sound level of political interaction between Moscow and London was conducive to building up trade and economic interaction. Russia and Britain are each other’s key foreign policy priorities.
