Russia is ready to ensure the necessary grain supplies to Ukraine under terms and conditions acceptable for the Ukrainian side and to tackle this issue in a flexible way, said Vladimir Putin at the meeting.
The forecast for the [grain] yield in Ukraine was reduced to 25–27 million metric tons, half of the 2001 figure, due to inclement weather.
The country’s leadership asked Russia and Kazakhstan to supply up to 2.5 million metric tons of grain to Ukraine.
