Dmitry Medvedev and President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba, Raul Castro first held one-on-one talks before being joined by their delegations.
Following the talks, Mr Medvedev and Mr Castro signed a Memorandum on the Principles of Strategic Cooperation between Russia and Cuba.
The two countries’ governments signed an agreement on the provision of a state credit to Cuba.
The two heads of state also witnessed the signing of a number of other joint agreements.
They include an agreement on the provision of free food aid to Cuba, three memoranda of mutual understanding between the respective ministries and agencies responsible for education, sport and physical culture, fisheries and the fishing industry.
Also signed were credit agreements on financing deliveries to Cuba of Russia’s latest model cargo plane, the Tu-204CE and related equipment, and a general agreement on cooperation between Russia’s biggest truck maker, OAO KAMAZ, and Cuban company Tradex.
