The two Presidents spoke first one-on-one and were then joined for further discussions by their respective delegations.
Mr Medvedev and Mr Morales Ayma signed a joint declaration following the talks. Mr Medvedev said that Russia sees Bolivia as an important participant in the world political process, and Latin America as one of the centres of the multipolar world that is taking shape today. The Joint Declaration highlights the importance Russia places on boosting exchanges in the areas of science, technology and industrial innovation. The two Presidents instructed their countries’ relevant ministers to sign a framework agreement on energy sector integration and cooperation, which provides for financing, information exchange, technology transfers, training for personnel, and investment with the support of state companies and other public sector establishments in each country.
Also signed were agreements on cooperation in the military-technical sphere, as well as in the areas of civil defense and natural disaster relief, and also an agreement on cooperation in fighting drugs trafficking.
