The talks were marked by a spirit of trust and friendship.
The two leaders discussed the progress of implementing agreements reached during Mr Putin’s visit to China, and gave a high assessment of this process.
Mr Putin and Mr Jintao stressed the importance of constant political dialogue between the two countries, including at a high level. They agreed that the schedule of these contacts for 2005 would be determined in the near future.
The two sides confirmed the importance of a six-country format in resolving the nuclear problem of the Korean peninsula, and their readiness for maximum cooperation in normalizing the situation in Afghanistan.
The Presidents also discussed a series of other relevant international issues.
