Mr Putin and Mr Balkenende held their talks at the Dutch Prime Minister’s residence. The bilateral talks then continued in extended format.
Following the talks, a number of bilateral agreements were signed in the presence of the two leaders, including: the Joint Action Programme for 2006–2007 between the Russian Federation and the Netherlands; a joint working programme between the Russian Education Ministry and the Dutch Ministry for Education, Culture and Science, for 2006–2008; a memorandum of understanding between the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Dutch Organisation for Applied Scientific Research and a cooperation agreement between Sberbank of Russia and Atradius Dutch State Business N.V.

This was followed by an official breakfast given by the Dutch Prime Minister in honour of the Russian President and his wife.
