Mr Putin also met with President of the Republic of Chechnya Alu Alkhanov and First Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, with whom he discussed social and economic development issues in the republic.
Mr Putin invited the republic’s leadership – the President, chairmen of the two houses of parliament and the heads of the government – to come to Moscow soon to discuss ongoing work to rebuild the economy and the social sector in Chechnya.
The President flew over Grozny in a helicopter.
