Vladimir Putin held a meeting on the bank sector's role in the regions' social and economic development.
They discussed various questions with respect to how the banking system functions, including the prospects for modernizing state banks, the activity of foreign banks in Russia and developing mortgage credits.
Following the meeting, a series of orders with respect to improving legislation in the banking sector, efficiency, appeal for investors and transparency was prepared.
Vladimir Putin also took part in the opening ceremony for the Novosibirsk State Theatre for Opera and Ballet following its reconstruction.
