Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref informed the President about GDP and industrial output growth for the period from January through to November 2005, and also reported on the inflation rate for December.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov reported on the State Duma’s adoption of a draft law making it possible to regulate the cost of housing and utilities services. Over the coming week the government will prepare the necessary legal acts making it possible to set limits for price rises in this sector.
Health and Social Development Minister Mikhail Zurabov reported that work has been completed on setting up a national data base on the social situation of Second World War veterans, invalids and people who worked in the rear. Mr Zurabov also reported on support measures for physically disabled people.
The next cabinet meeting will examine the federal targeted programme, Social Support for the Disabled over the Period from 2006–2010.
Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin informed the President about his participation in a meeting of the organising committee preparing celebrations of the 450th anniversary of Bashkortostan becoming a part of Russia. The meeting examined the question of achieving quality improvements in the region’s social sector over the coming two years.
