The message reads, in particular:
“The relations between our countries are undergoing rapid development in all areas. A solid foundation for Russian-Canadian cooperation was laid at the beginning of the 1990s, in large part thanks to the efforts of the leader of the Conservative Party, Brian Mulrooney. I hope that your government will continue in this spirit and will actively support the joint initiatives and projects developed over these last years.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to take part in the meeting of the heads of states of the G8 countries that will take place in St Petersburg on July 15–17, 2006.
I wish you success in your work as Prime Minister and I hope for fruitful cooperation in the interests of developing the Russian-Canadian partnership.”
