Mr Putin congratulated the Russian athletes on their outstanding performance at the Olympics.
Speed skating champion Svetlana Zhurova and gold medallist in the men’s figure skating event Yevgeny Plyushchenko replied on behalf of the Olympic winners and medallists.
An informal discussion followed during which the President asked the athletes about their problems and wishes.
