The message reads, in particular:
“Russia and Chile have a long tradition of friendly relations. We welcome your readiness to further expand the mutually advantageous Russian-Chilean cooperation that exists in various areas. At present, a priority task involves increasing and diversifying trade. Another one consists in implementing joint programmes and projects in high-tech fields such as the aviation and space industries, nuclear energy, telecommunications and energy. There are good possibilities for partnership in the military and technological industries.
Russia is firmly attached to continuing its constructive dialogue with Chile on the international stage with a view to strengthening universal peace and stability, supporting the recognized principles of international law, and increasing the central role of the UN and its Security Council. Today's circumstances require close cooperation between our states in increasing security both at the global and regional levels, the fight against international terrorism, organized crime, illegal drug trafficking, and also with other transnational threats and challenges.
I am confident that through joint efforts we will manage to further increase bilateral cooperation on many levels.”
