“Your meeting marks the launch of a Russian-French research project to study issues related to civil society.
I think it is important that scholars and influential public leaders in both countries are engaging in direct and open discussion on these topical issues. There can be no doubt that the study of national and pan-European experience of developing democratic institutions will help to strengthen civil society and contribute to the implementation of its important initiatives. It is pleasing to see that your project has an educational dimension and that it is aimed to a large extent at young people.
I hope that your productive work together will enrich the palette of cultural and scientific ties between Russia and France.”
