Mr Putin and Mrs Halonen visited the museum’s halls where Malevich’s works were on view, in particular his famous paintings, Black Circle, Black Square and Black Cross.
The two leaders also saw works by Malevich lent to the Modern Art Museum by private collectors from Switzerland and on display for the first time.
