An official greeting ceremony preceded the Russian-Jordanian high-level talks. The Royal Guard performed an honour guard at Basman Palace. A military orchestra played both countries’ hymns.
Vladimir Putin and Jordanian King Abdullah II had a private meeting and then members of both countries’ delegations joined the heads of state. They discussed the situation in the Middle East and also topical issues in Russian-Jordanian relations.
Following their talks, the President of Russia and the King of Jordan adopted a Joint Statement on further strengthening Russian-Jordanian friendship and cooperation. A number of cooperation agreements in the trade and economic spheres were signed in the presence of the heads of state.
