Russia will continue to make efforts towards attaining a Middle Eastern peace settlement, Vladimir Putin declared. The Russian head of state pointed out that observing existing agreements within the Palestinian National Authority proper will help the creation of an effective Palestinian government and lead to a comprehensive settlement with Israel. In connection with this, returning the captured Israeli soldier would be an important step, the President noted.
Vladimir Putin also declared that the Palestinian problem was a central theme during talks throughout the Middle Eastern trip.
The Russian head of state welcomed agreements reached with the help of the King of Saudi Arabia’s mediation.
