Other participants included heads of the Presidential Executive Office, first deputies and deputies of the presidential envoys, and chief federal inspectors.
The meeting looked into and evaluated the results reported by the envoys and their offices, discussed the place and role of the envoys in the country’s government, and set priorities for 2001.
President Putin told the envoys to take a more active part in the delimitation of powers between the regions and the federal centre. The President said the envoys must help not only to delimit the powers of federal and regional authorities but also to make clear to the public the President’s position on key issues of government policy. They must help to establish the unity of Russia's legal and economic space.
