The President pointed out that without considerable achievements in the social sciences it will not be possible to cardinally improve Russian science as a whole. Along with the development of natural sciences, the social sciences play a role in accomplishing priority state tasks in Russia.
Vladimir Putin talked about creating a Russian World foundation designed to disseminate and develop Russia’s cultural heritage along with the study and popularity of Russian language.
The President pointed out that in today’s somewhat contradictory world the value of an education in the humanities is increasingly important despite the fact that it would seem that knowledge in applied fields such as technology and economics is the most valuable.
Vladimir Putin emphasised that alongside the development of natural sciences, the social sciences play a role in accomplishing priority state tasks in Russia. However, the social sciences are not yet able to effectively perform their important functions.
As he participated in the discussion, the President made clear that no one has the right to judge Russia and to use such judgments as a way to gain influence. Vladimir Putin is also opposed to the way that guilt has been imposed on Russia and confirmed that the Russian political system will remain democratic.
