The President was shown experimental fields where dozens of different grains are grown. There were tables set out featuring 17 sorts of bread and baked goods made from the flour of these grains.
The head of state looked at agricultural equipment and, accompanied by First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov, got behind the wheel of a combine harvester and drove it a few metres. He also drove around a field in a V-100 truck.
At the end of the exhibition, Vladimir Putin attended a skills competition for tractor operators. He congratulated the winner of one event, the only female machine operator, Nadezhda Letvinova.
