During the meeting, the President talked about Sochi’s application for the Winter Olympics and about its competitive advantages and benefits for the development of sport in Russia and the Olympic movement in general.
Vladimir Putin expressed his support for all Olympic programmes as conducted by the IOC.
In turn, during the conversation with Vladimir Putin, Jacques Rogge indicated that all the candidates were ”very strong“. The IOC President assured President Putin that the choice of the city to host the 2014 Winter Olympic Games would be fair, and wished Russia success with its bid.
