The telegram reads, in part:

Year after year this exhibition demonstrates the latest military technology, the innovative development of the defence sector in Russia, and the implementation of ideas from the best scientific and engineering minds. Foreign professionals can gather here and examine the best work of Russia’s arms makers and see for themselves their superlative tactical and technical characteristics. Because of their high quality and reliability, many of the weapons are in great demand in the global market.
I do not doubt that the Exhibition is causing great interest among professionals, will provide new opportunities for sharing best practices, and will contribute significantly to the enhancement of international military-technical cooperation and the strengthening of Russia’s export potential.”
The biennial Exhibition which takes place in Omsk involves about 170 Russian and foreign companies engaged in the manufacture of military products, special equipment and high-tech non-military hardware.
The Exhibition will be held on June 2–6, 2009.
