Mr Rudenya said that the gross regional product will post growth of 0.4 percent this year. The most promising growth sectors are agriculture and the processing industry. The Tver Carriage Works (Tverskoy Vagonostroitelny Zavod) has performed well this year, with orders coming in from Sakhalin and Cuba, and orders for trams for Moscow and Tver. Moscow has also signed contracts with the plant for railway wagons and passenger trains.
Other subjects of discussion at the meeting included implementation of the May 2012 presidential executive orders and the region’s demographic situation.
