Executive order on 2016 Presidential Prize for Young Scientists

Vladimir Putin signed the Executive Order On the 2016 Presidential Prize in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists.

The President, after examining the proposals submitted by the Presidential Council for Science and Education, resolved to award the 2016 Presidential Prize in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists and the honorary title of laureate of the Presidential Prize to:

Dmitry Blau, PhD in physics and mathematics, researcher at the National Research Center Kurchatov Institute, Yelena Lushchevskaya, PhD in physics and mathematics, senior researcher at the Alikhanov Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics at National Research Center Kurchatov Institute, and Stanislav Poslavsky, PhD in physics and mathematics, researcher at the Logunov Institute of High Energy Physics at National Research Center Kurchatov Institute for research into quark-gluon plasma using mega-installations, and developing the foundations of a new, highly productive computer algebra system for performing calculations in high energy physics;

Alexander Gaifullin, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, PhD in physics and mathematics, researcher at the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Steklov Mathematical Institute, for resolving fundamental theoretical problems concerning the theory of flexible polyhedra, which lays the foundations for developing robotics;

Alexei Dmitriyev, PhD in biology, senior researcher at the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Engelgardt Institute of Molecular Biology, and Anna Kudryavtseva, PhD in biology, researcher at the same institute, for decoding new mechanisms involved in the emergence and development of the specific metabolism of malignant epithelial tumours;

Ilya Romanchenko, PhD in physics and mathematics, junior researcher at the Russian Academy of Sciences Siberian Division’s Institute of High Current Electronics, for developing high power radio pulse gyromagnetic generators that can be used to defend against terrorist threats and develop biomedical technologies.
