During the talks the Russian President, in particular, noted the importance of preserving the tendency for growth in Russia-China trade and economic relations.
Vladimir Putin also congratulated the Chinese delegation on the opening of the Belt and Road international forum in Beijing.

As regards bilateral relations, they are developing gradually and successfully. We are glad that due to the efforts of our countries' governments – the Russian Government and your Government – we have both overcome the recess in trade and economic ties and have returned to growth. It is important for us to preserve this tendency.
