The two presidents will discuss bilateral cooperation in trade and the economy, cultural and humanitarian areas, and environmental protection, and will exchange views on current regional and international issues.
Mr Putin and Mr Niinisto will then visit Olavinlinna Castle, where an opera festival is taking place from July 7 to August 4. The two presidents will attend a performance of the opera Iolanta staged by the Bolshoi Theatre.
Mr Putin’s visit is marking the 100th anniversary of Finland’s independence as a state.
