Svetlana Orlova described a small town that marked its 850th anniversary not long ago, where churches, museums, roads, schools, the outpatient clinic and the embankment have been renovated. The next programme covers the museum-reserve town of Suzdal.

According to the Governor, the regional budget has remained deficit-free since 2015. The gross regional product has grown 30 percent over the past four years from 306 billion rubles to 392 billion rubles. The region saw 360 billion rubles in investment. There are 62 new projects including a new facility for the German company Quarzwerke that processes quartz sand for the glass industry. Gusar, an Arctic-grade pipeline valve manufacturer, has a new full cycle plant. It received its first order from Transneft. A priority development area is being created, and the first special investment contract was signed with the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

With regard to the social sphere, Ms Orlova said eight schools had opened in the region, and 37 more will be built by 2025. Plans include 16 new sports facilities, including four ice palaces. As many as 3,382 people have been relocated from structurally deficient buildings, but more remains to be done. Utility systems, including gas, water, heat and electricity systems are being rebuilt. Hospitals are being renovated, although problems in healthcare remain, in particular, with regard to reinstating rural health clinics.

Answering a question on whether there are complaints regarding healthcare facilities, Ms Orlova said that the region needs help with the perinatal centre in the town of Kovrov. Vladimir Putin promised to provide support.
