Mr Patrushev reported on implementation of instructions issued by the President at a meeting in Stavropol on stabilising the social and political situation and neutralising terrorist and extremist threats in the North Caucasus held on August 19, 2009. The instructions concerned providing additional material incentives for people involved in counterterrorism work in the region.
Mr Medvedev signed two executive orders today: On Additional Measures to Increase Social Welfare Provisions for the Children of Military Servicemen and the Personnel of Some Federal Executive Bodies Killed or Missing While Performing Their Professional Duties; and On Additional Guarantees and Compensation for Personnel of the Russian Federation Prosecutor’s Office Engaged in Professional Activity in the North Caucasus and Members of their Families.
