The President’s message of greetings reads, in part:
“This day unites a great number of people in this country, people in diverse professions and areas of activity. Every day, these people ensure the stable and failsafe operation of every area of the domestic railway system and build on their wonderful professional traditions.
I would like to note that today the railway system is performing well even under the conditions of this complicated epidemiological situation, largely owing to your competence and responsible attitude towards your work. The facilities are now seeing large-scale modernization. I am referring to the comprehensive development of the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian railways and the Mezhdurechensk-Taishet section. Access to the ports of the North-Western and Azov-Black Sea basins are being upgraded. The Central Transportation Hub is being built at a rapid pace; the locomotive fleet and the rolling stock are being upgraded, and modern high-speed trains are being developed.
I know that many of you are meeting working on professional day. You are making a personal contribution to the consolidation of the powerful potential of a railway system that links Russia’s cities and regions and plays a major role in the nation’s socio-economic development. I am confident that you will continue to successfully resolve your tasks for the benefit of Russia and its people.”
