Dmitry Medvedev, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev discussed future possibilities for reaching a settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

This was the fifth trilateral meeting of the presidents. The first consultations took place in November 2008 and resulted in the signing of the Declaration by the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Russian Federation.

The second meeting was held in June 2009 on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, the third took place in Moscow in July 2009 as part of events organised for the President’s Cup horse race, and the fourth was held in October 2009 on the sidelines of the CIS summit in Chisinau, Moldova.
