Meeting with President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Mr President,

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for finding the chance to come to Russia with this noble mission to which we devoted several hours today.

I believe that both formally and informally, we have thoroughly discussed many or at least the key aspects and problems connected with the crisis, which prompted you to come to Russia with the aim of finding a solution to it.

And, as agreed, we have a chance to make a few remarks concerning our bilateral relations and cooperation as part of international organisations, including BRICS.

Thank you very much for your visit.

Thank you very much also particularly for receiving the African leaders who came to St Petersburg to meet with you as part of the African peace mission. We want to thank you for listening to us and we also thank you for explaining to us the situation that you are involved in.

We covered a number of issues that are related to this crisis and we have agreed to continue with the discussions and we will also take the discussions forward when we come to the Africa-Russia Summit in July. So, we thank you for that.

We are also here to discuss the bilateral relations between Russia and South Africa, and we will be able to cover a number of issues including the BRICS summit and a number of other issues that have to do with our cooperation.

Thank you very much for being open to talk to us in the way that you did, thank you.
